Broccoli and cherupayar thoran - Broccoli and green gram stirfry

Broccoli florets- 2 cups
Whole green gram cooked - 4 cups
Red chillies - 4-5 nos.
Ginger - 1 tbs thinly sliced
Garlic- 4 cloves thinly sliced
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Cumin - 1 tsp
Coconut - 1/2 cup grated
Onion - 1 cup chopped
Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Green Chillies 2-3 nos slit (optional)
Coconut oil - 2-3 tbs
Curry leaves -2-3 stems

Method:
Heat oil in a wok and splutter mustard seeds, cumin seeds, add ginger, garlic, red chillies, curry leaves, grated coconut and onion one after the other and saute till done. Add turmeric, chilli powder, salt, green chillies and broccoli florets and cooked green gram. Sprinkle some water and cook with a lid, to sweat the veggies. The broccoli should be tender, the thoran should be dry when done.

Serve as a side with rice or roti.
