Spicy Beef fry - Almost kerala style ;)

Hi,

This is my version of beef fry. Try it- I'm sure you'll love it!  Make it spicy and fry it up; don't worry about your bad cholesterol, it'll all melt because it's so hot!!!

Ingredients:

Beef cut into thin strips- 1/2 - 3/4 kg
Chillie powder - 11/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 3-4 heaped tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam masala - 2tsp
Fennel seeds - 1/2 tsp
Coconut oil / vegetable oil - as needed to fry the beef
Curry leaves - 5-6 stems
Coconut cut into discs/ thin strips (optional)
Ketchup - 2 tbs
Red onion - 2 cups thinly sliced
Ginger 2 tbs thinly sliced
Garlic - 2 tbs thinly sliced
Salt
Method:
Heat 2 tbs of oil in a wok, add fennel, after it splutters, add ginger, garlic, onion, salt and coconut slices if using then saute till done. Add all the powdered spices and roast it till it's fragrant. Mix in the beef strips and cook over a very low flame, with a lid for about 45 mts or till the meat is cooked. Instead of a wok, a pressure cooker may be used for quicker results. Add oil, as needed, to fry the beef; after evaporating most of the liquid, that is released from cooking the beef. Add the curry leaves, do a taste check and add more garam masala and salt if needed. Finally add the ketchup and mix it well and fry till done. Serve with rice, kerala porota or roti.

Enjoy and don't forget to send in your feedback. That'll encourage me to blog.

I'm in the process of recalling and memorizing scripture verses. Henceforth, I'll post some verses along with my recepies.

Mathew 4:4b : "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God"
